About VM Institute

The Varāhamihira Multidisciplinary Institute is a pioneering academic initiative driven by the Asiatic Society for Social Science Research, headquartered in New Delhi, India. Founded to honour the legacy of the ancient Indian polymath Varāhamihira, renowned for his contributions to astronomy, mathematics, and the sciences, Institute aims to foster knowledge across diverse disciplines with a strong interdisciplinary approach. The Varāhamihira Multidisciplinary Institute is registered with NITI Aayog vide Unique ID Number DL/2024/0445242.

Institute's mission is to promote educational excellence and facilitate innovative learning experiences. The institute serves both as a research hub and a centre for advanced academic training, encouraging cross-disciplinary research in fields such as history, social sciences, heritage management, Indian scripts, archaeology, and art appreciation. The courses are structured to stimulate critical thinking and to build capacity for contemporary academic and professional challenges.

The Institute offers a range of online certificate courses and workshops, some of which focus on specialized subjects such as Kharoṣṭhī and Brāhmī scripts, heritage management, museum documentation, and experimental archaeology.
